How we can help:

Post-Tension Inspections
Using the latest techniques, we locate and carefully expose the post-tensioned ducts/sheaths to allow a visual inspection and sampling of any potential grout and recording of wire strands.
Pre-Stressed Elements
Using tried and tested methodology of Microcovermeter and impulse radar surveying, we can map pre-stressed wires and carry out exposures to size and understand the condition of reinforcement.

Concrete Slab Surveys
Concrete slab surveys, suspended or ground bearing, via Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)/Microcovermeter to determine steel bar/joist layouts, coupled with intrusive inspections and sampling for deleterious materials.
Steel Frame Superstructures
Locating and exposing different steel elements for sizing, condition and setting out, including node connections. In-situ hardness, spark testing and samples can be collected for further analysis.

Foundation Exposing and Detailing
Locating and exposing existing foundations within 1.5m depth. Typically, hand dug and coupled with shear vane testing and logging of strata. Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing of the soils below and around the foundations with samples collected for chloride and sulphate analysis.
Timber Surveys
Setting out and recording of timber elements condition and sizes, damp meter surveys to determine moisture content and timber resistance drilling.

Load Testing
Pull out testing and shear testing of resin installed anchors for both concrete and masonry, test rigs designed and built. Concrete slabs and beams load tests designed and carried out under the supervision of a Chartered Engineer.
Reinforced Concrete Frame Structures
Mapping of reinforced concrete elements for capacity and condition purposes via intrusive openings, ground penetrating radar (GPR) and microcovermeter surveys. Concrete samples can be collected to determine compressive strength and presence of deleterious chemicals i.e. chloride, sulphates and alkali content. Visual surveys to determine overall condition of the superstructure.

GPR and Non-destructive Testing
As a starting point, using tried and tested techniques of GPR and covermeter, we are able to perform non-destructive surveys to ascertain structural frame details which are unknown. This information will help a design team understand the structure and allow them to specify further investigations as part of an overall design scheme.
